A size label is only one clue. Compare your longer foot with the relevant model chart, confirm the selected option and inspect the warehouse pair before shipping.
What the spreadsheet card can and cannot answer
A sneaker card is useful for narrowing a crowded catalog. It can show a title, image, dated CNY price and a count of associated QC photos. It cannot tell you whether the current size option remains available, how wide the shoe feels, or whether the photographed pair matches the option you would order.
Begin with two or three candidates in the same category. Record the exact model name and colourway, then open each current listing in a new tab. Confirm the selected size and price there rather than treating the snapshot card as a live offer.
Apply these checks to the products in UIDBuy Sneakers Spreadsheet.
Measure feet before translating a size label
Measure both feet while standing on a flat sheet of paper. Mark the back of the heel and the longest toe, then measure the distance on each foot. Use the longer measurement when comparing with the size chart for the specific brand or model. Nike notes that the centimetre value printed on some shoe labels is not necessarily the same number as measured foot length.
Wear the socks you expect to use with the shoes. REI also recommends considering how feet change over the day and checking fit with the larger foot. A familiar EU or US size can be a starting point, but it is not a substitute for a model-specific chart or an in-person fitting.
- Keep foot length and the listing’s size system in separate columns.
- Check whether the seller supplies insole length or shoe width for the selected option.
- If a chart or dimension is absent, mark it as unknown instead of converting sizes by guesswork.
Compare candidates with the same questions
A small comparison table is more useful than remembering which thumbnail looked best. The rows below show an illustrative method, not real offers or a recommended size.
| Question | Candidate A | Candidate B |
|---|---|---|
| Current size option | Confirmed on listing | Not yet confirmed |
| Model-specific size chart | Available | Missing |
| Insole or width detail | Insole length shown | No measurement shown |
| QC photos | Count shown; images still need review | No count shown |
Candidate A has more information to assess. That alone does not prove better fit or quality. It tells you which uncertainties remain before paying and which questions to ask if the item reaches the warehouse.
Use warehouse photos for identity and visible condition
When QC images are available in the order or warehouse view, compare both shoes with the ordered colourway and size. Look for a readable size label, left and right sides, toe shape, heel, outsole and any visible damage. A cropped close-up is more helpful if a wider image makes clear which pair it belongs to.
A QC count on this site does not provide the underlying photo files and is not an authenticity check. Photos can show a wrong colour or obvious defect; they cannot establish how the shoe will feel during a walk. If the size label is missing, request a clear label image. If width or length remains uncertain, ask whether a relevant measurement can be supplied.
Suppose your longer foot measures 26.4 cm and two listings both say “EU 42”. Check each model’s chart and selected option. If one warehouse pair shows a different label from the order, address that mismatch before adding it to a parcel.
Make the final decision with the remaining uncertainty visible
REI describes a good running-shoe fit as room at the toes with a secure midfoot and heel, while recognising that the last and width differ between models. A photograph cannot tell you how the shoes feel on your feet. Treat sizing advice as a way to reduce risk, not a promise that one label will fit every foot.
Before ordering, save the current listing and selected size. After arrival, review the actual warehouse pair promptly so there is time to raise a wrong-item or damage question. If the essential measurement or view is unavailable, decide consciously whether the uncertainty is acceptable instead of assuming the QC badge solved it.
